A LOOK-BACK AT 2024
The 2025 Flower Show and fête were - as ever - a great success.
The sun shone on us, apart from one short downpour; the Pimms tent sold out of Pimms, the barbecuers sold out of everything, and the after-show auction saw lots of people going home happy with bargains.
Rob Stevens cleaned up on the vegetable section, and the overall family prize was won by the Stephens of Nash End.
Modesty forbids the webmaster from announcing the winner of the Men's Chocolate Cake category.
The annual inter-village quiz on the Sunday was won by the Lynch Mob from France Lynch: start boning up now for next year, Bisley quizzers - we can't be done over in our own backyard like this!
Thanks to Louise, Ollie, Caroline, Allan, Nicky, Baiju, Fiona, April, Helen, and Sam, and everyone else who worked throughout the year, but especially on the weekend, to make the Flower Show happen.
Thanks to Sue Bradley and all her team on the fête side of things for their equally selfless commitment, too.
Keeping the Flower Show going
It's an annual struggle to fund the Flower Show - the marquee alone costs over £3,000 to hire, and the show is entirely self-funding. Please visit this link to sponsor a table for just £10, and to book tickets to the inter-village quiz.
Every year we sell table sponsorships and hold fundraising events like Joe Badman's fantastic magic night, pub quizzes, and more; then there's the quiz in the marquee itself (note: on Bank Holiday Monday this year), the Over Court open garden evening, and so on.
